The Software House iSTAR Ultra G2 (GSTAR008) is a cyber-hardened enterprise network door controller for a Software House C•CURE 9000 system, shipping in this configuration as an 8-reader controller pre-mounted in its metal enclosure. It answers the most demanding enterprise and government access control requirements, supporting up to 8 readers out of the box and scaling to 32 readers, with a local database of up to 1,000,000 cardholders held in memory for fully independent operation during network or host outages. Built on a hardened Linux kernel and a Trusted Execution Environment, it delivers zero-trust security end to end: 256-bit AES (FIPS 197) network encryption, controller-based TLS 1.3 certificates for network authentication, OSDP Secure Channel for encrypted reader communication, and embedded High Assurance FICAM operation with no third-party hardware. Dual gigabit Ethernet ports with IPv6, DHCP, and 802.1X provide modern, resilient network connectivity, while advanced controller-to-controller communication enables cluster-based anti-passback and distributed I/O logic across sites.
