Question 1

What is a Mercury cross-reference?

Accepted Answer

A Mercury cross-reference maps an OEM part number from LenelS2, Honeywell Pro-Watch, RS2, Avigilon, Open Options, or another access-control platform back to the underlying Mercury hardware family.

Question 2

Why do Lenel, Pro-Watch, and Avigilon boards have different part numbers?

Accepted Answer

Many access-control vendors sell OEM Mercury hardware under platform-specific part numbers, firmware, and licensing rules. The board may be Mercury-based without being universally interchangeable.

Question 3

Can I replace an older LP or EP controller with an MP controller?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes, but not automatically. Mercury MP support depends on the target platform and software version, so MP1501, MP1502, MP2500, and MP4502 replacements should be verified before purchase.
