The LenelS2 LNL-X2220 Intelligent Dual Reader Controller (IDRC) is a single-board solution for interfacing one or two doors to a Lenel OnGuard access control system. Built on the Mercury platform, it makes access decisions, monitors alarms, and buffers events on board, so doors keep functioning even if the connection to the OnGuard host is lost. Its two reader interfaces control two physical barriers and accept TTL (D1/D0, clock/data) or 2-wire RS-485/OSDP reader signaling, with tri-state LED and buzzer control and support for up to 16 different card formats. Eight supervised inputs monitor door contacts, exit push buttons, and alarm points, while four Form-C relay outputs drive strike control or alarm signaling. The controller communicates with the host over on-board 10/100 Ethernet (or Micro-USB with an optional adapter), carries 6 MB of cardholder memory and 50,000-event storage, and expands via its downstream port with additional I/O and reader interface modules — supporting up to 32 downstream devices.
