The AXIS T8516 is a 16-port managed Gigabit PoE+ switch purpose-built for IP surveillance, not repurposed from generic IT hardware. Each of the 16 Gigabit ports delivers up to 30 W of PoE+ power against a 240 W total budget, enough to run a full camera deployment on a single switch, and two combo RJ45/SFP uplink ports handle fiber or copper backhaul. Its standout feature is the web interface: a graphical topology view that maps every connected device, letting you check status, monitor traffic, run cable diagnostics, and reboot a camera remotely without touching the ladder. An integrated DHCP server assigns IP addresses to cameras automatically, and the switch installs in minutes using the same AXIS IP Utility and AXIS Device Manager tools you already use.
